Kinesiotape® and Athletic Performance
Cat Cowey and I discuss a study from the International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy done in 2016. The authors hypothesized that there would be improvements in athletic performance but it didn’t work out that way. There are many claims about the benefits of ktape. Bottom line. If it works for you, use it, but don’t become dependent on it.

Most of the research is done on healthy people. But clearly need to start doing it on people who are in pain. Because clinically, it's helping people get out of pain.

Corrects dysfunctional or suboptimal movement patterns
Improve propioception
Supports weak muscles, can help them contract and therefore strengthen them
Can inhibit muscles
Alleviates discomfort and pain
Decreases inflammation
